Self-Coach Sunday 33: Arrive 10 Minutes Early

If you already arrive early, good for you.  If not, the fastest and simplest way to create a reserve of time in your life is to show up 10 minutes early to every business and personal appointment. It may sound like a waste of time, but you could use those 10 minutes to make one more call or one more action. By doing less, you gain more – more time, more peace, more awareness. These 10 minutes will help you compose your thoughts, take in the environment around you, and relax. As an experiment, try showing up early to all of your appointments for one week.

The result can include: more productivity and efficiency, less rushed, ready if a delay or traffic problem occurs, open to compose thoughts, have some quiet time, and relax. When you schedule something, write down the time you need to LEAVE instead of the time you need to GET THERE. Once that time hits, you are out the door and on your way. Another tip to arrive 10 minutes early is instead of saying “I’ll meet you in 20 minutes,” say 30 minutes.
